Yoo Jae Suk & Kim Jong Kook surprise appearance on ‘Challenge 1000 Songs’

Yoo Jae Suk and Kim Jong Kook showed off their vocal prowess on ‘Challenge 1000 Songs’ but Kim Jong Kook almost got retired as a singer.

On the January 1st installment of SBS’s ‘Running Man’, the ‘Math Race Special’ was put on with the Hallyu idols Super Junior member Choi Siwon, SHINee member Minho, Wonder Girls member Sohee, f(x) member Sulli, and Sistar member Hyorin.

Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, and Sohee made up a team and were looking all over the studio for hints. They accidentally went into the ‘Challenge 1000 Songs’ studio and the MC’s were not going to let go of Yoo Jae Suk without having him sing a song.

Lee Hwee Jae said, “You can’t just leave like this. If you get more than 92% then we’ll give you hint” trying to convince Yoo Jae Suk to sing. Yoo Jae Suk picked Hong Kyung Min’s ‘Shaken Friendship’. As Yoo Jae Suk sang his heart out, Sulli, HaHa, and Gary tried to take Yoo Jae Suk’s name tag off from behind the stage. Yoo Jae Suk was flustered as the first and second warning lights lit up and ended up with 88% so he failed at obtaining the hint.

Then Kim Jong Kook stepped up to the plate for the team. Kim Jong Kook picked his song ‘Loveable’ and Lee Hwee Jae joked, “It’s your own song so if you can’t get more than 92% then you should retire.”

Under the pressure, Kim Jong Kook missed the first beat but right away came back to the singer Kim Jong Kook with the smooth voice. Kim Jong Kook who was in danger of being retired, obtained 95% successfully.

The boot was inside Jang Yoon Jung‘s boots and the team was happy to earn the hint.
